60 Years and Going Strong

On 28th November 2015 Heritage Lodge no. 5572 held their regular meeting at Oakley House at which W.Bro. Albert O’Shea P.G.Std.Br., L.G.R. was presented with a 60 Year Citation by The Province of West Kent as recognition of him being a Freemason since November 1955.

The Presentation was carried out by W.Bro. Keith Fairweather P.S.G.D., A.P.G.M accompanied by W.Bro. Phillip May P.J.G.D., A.P.G.M. and the Citation read by W. Bro. E. Webb P.Pr.S.G.W.

During his introduction W. Bro. Fairweather quoted topical world events that occurred in 1955 and in particular in November 1955 in which W.Bro. Albert was first initiated into Freemasonry by Elfrida Lodge no.4497 on 15th November 1955.

He also made reference to W.Bro. Albert’s long service to Scouting and that he is a holder of the ‘Silver Acorn’ being a high ranking honour within that organisation.

W.Bro. Fairweather also presented W.Bro O’Shea with a 60 year lapel pin and the members of the Lodge made a presentation of a fountain pen in recognition of this momentous occasion.

W.Bro. Albert thanked the Province and the Lodge and shared a special celebration cake with the Brethren at the Festive Board made by the Lodge’s very own ‘Mary Berry’ W.Bro. Derek Hix.

Albert who is Heritage’s current DC is now looking forward to the next 60 years!!
